SolarCraft is the best. We have been customers for over 30 years. They just finished installing a solar system with battery back up at our home..In addition to doing great work, they have great support and follow-up. Dave Berry in sales, Janell in Operations and Taylor in Tech are particular standouts. Add the fact that they are a long time, local, employee owned company…we cannot recommend them highly enough.

We initially met with David Berry in our home to discuss power usage based on provided monthly PG&E bills. His presentation was thorough and provided knowledgeable answers to our questions. We never paid a penny over the original estimate. Throughout the project we were kept informed by Janell Azevedo regarding installation scheduling which was challenging due to the heavy rains during the first quarter of 2023. The install team were very professional and on time; we knew immediately we were in great hands! Once the install was completed and signed off by our city inspector we worked with Chiara Rocciola, NEM Administrator, who worked directly with PG&E to get final approval to turn on our system.
I highly recommend SolarCraft and their professional team!

When hiring SolarCraft, be aware that they do not offer any warranty on any of the equipment such as the panels and inverter they are selling you. There is a manufacturer warranty on those items, but it is essentially a non-existent warranty, because in order to claim it, you would need to spend thousands of dollars first with SolarCraft to produce the proof to the manufacturer that the panels are actually defective. As a customer there is no way you can produce those measurements on your own. The only option you have at that point is to purchase new equipment - on your own dime and being charged full cost for installation by SolarCraft! In the beginning of a solar install everything seems fine - until and when something goes wrong with any of your equipment!
SolarCraft has had a clear warranty for 38 years and it is written to be very easy to understand. We provide a 10 year workmanship warranty but we do not warranty the products installed. Product warranties are covered by the product manufacturer such as the solar panel manufacturer. This is typical in the construction industry. It’s the same scenario as if you have a refrigerator warranty, it is with the manufacturer of the refrigerator and not with the contractor that installed the refrigerator. That said, as a courtesy to our customers, SolarCraft supports our customers when possible regarding manufacture’s product warranties. In your case, your panels are 19 years old and the manufacturer no longer manufacture or supports the products. SolarCraft offered to manage the warranty claim for you at our standard service rates since it would take many hours working with the manufacturer. Because this is an expense, all customers in these situations are encouraged to make the first call to the manufacturers and SolarCraft will provide supporting information as necessary. In your case, you agreed to have new solar panels installed instead because getting a “new” solar system that will last another 20 years was better than working with the manufacturer. You’re set for the next 20 years.
SolarCraft is an outstanding, locally owned and operated, independent solar designer, installer and servicer. I highly recommend SolarCraft, and have recommended them to numerous friends and neighbors over the years. They have installed solar on both of the homes that I have owned in Marin County, and I am 100% satisfied with the work they've done and service they've provided over the course of nearly a decade since I first worked with them on my home in Corte Madera.
